Building Bridges: Creating Board, Administration, and Community Buy-in for Sexual Health Education in Schools

Texas voters, regardless of their political beliefs, support medically accurate, age-appropriate, abstinence-plus sex education. Additionally, medical and public health organizations across the country support comprehensive sex education because of the myriad of benefits to young people. So why is it so hard to get buy-in for sexual health education in schools in Texas?

Join us to discuss how to build the necessary bridges with school boards, district administrators, and community members. Our guest speaker, Stephanie D. Hebert, M.Ed., will share tips and tricks on what worked and what didn't in the journey to gain support for K-12 comprehensive sexual health education in a large Texas school district.

The event is free. Continuing education credits, including SW, CPE, LPC, and CHW Uncertified, are available only to those who participate in the live event.

When: April 23rd, 2024 from 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM
